Abstract

Facial rejuvenation in plastic surgery in 2026 is based on a comprehensive approach combining three complementary pillars: skin repair, volume restoration, and repositioning of soft tissues. The addition of regenerative medicine and surgical techniques brings significant improvements, particularly in the first two areas.
Skin treatment aims to correct the effects of aging related to collagen degradation and decreased fibroblast activity. These changes lead to wrinkles, loss of elasticity, and dyschromia, often worsened by ultraviolet radiation. Skin management includes retinol, antioxidants, microneedling, chemical peels, lasers, and radiofrequency. Regenerative techniques (fat grafting and autologous mesenchymal stem cells, and even exosomes) are increasingly contributing to both the quality and durability of results.
Volume restoration constitutes the second pillar. Aging is associated with both bone and fat loss. Injection of autologous adipocytes (lipofilling) is replacing traditional injectable products such as hyaluronic acid and helps restore facial structure and projection, with added benefits linked to the biological richness of the grafted tissue (stem cells, growth factors). However, the use of PRP in France remains limited to very few indications, mainly in reconstructive surgery.
Finally, tissue repositioning is achieved through cervicofacial lifting procedures (either superficial cutaneous or deeper “deep plane” techniques), allowing harmonious tightening along different vectors. Neck treatment requires a specific analysis (platysma, fat, and deeper structures). Less invasive alternatives, such as thread lifts, may also play a complementary role.
Altogether, these approaches aim to achieve natural, long-lasting, and personalized rejuvenation.
