Abstract

Despite its inherent constraints, civil aviation is the safest mode of transport today.

This safety isn't due to technological advancements alone. It's the result of an enormous amount of work on the human factor. Humans are involved at every stage, from the design of tools to their final use.

The 1977 Tenerife accident was a turning point. It highlighted the critical need to focus on crew communication and coordination.
This led to the creation of Cockpit Resource Management (CRM), an approach that significantly strengthened pilot resilience.

Today, with the evolution toward Company Resource Management (CoRM), the management of the human factor has been extended to all stakeholders, making air safety an excellent model for other sectors.
