Abstract

The reform of the residency, the statutory evolution of the resident and the advent of the simulation training have led to a rethinking of the learning of cardiothoracic surgery around three axes: theoretical knowledge, procedural simulation and skills. non-technical.

For three years, a national simulation curriculum has been designed combining workshop training: the Bootcamp, and training on a Simlife® perfused cadaver model. The Bootcamp brings together all French graduate students over two days to offer them a toolbox of technical and non-technical skills necessary to carry out their profession. They could also complete surgical procedures and be sensitized to specific individual non-technical skills by Simlife® training. Finally, robotic surgery revisits daily surgical companionship.

Knowledge, Know-how and Know-how-tobe: three pillars for the innovation in cardiothoracic surgery training
