Abstract
In the demanding field of surgery, technical efficiency and precision are undeniably crucial.
However, the importance of soft skills—those interpersonal abilities
that facilitate positive interactions—is often underestimated. This presentation aims to explore the significant impact of soft skills on surgical practice, highlighting how effective communication, empathy, stress management, and teamwork not only influence patient well-being but also operational efficiency and the atmosphere within the operating room. Drawing on case studies and recent research, we will discuss strategies to develop these essential skills, with the goal of improving surgical outcomes and strengthening team dynamics.
By recognizing and valuing soft skills, surgeons can enhance the quality of care, promote a culture of safety and excellence, and respond more effectively to the complex challenges of the surgical environment.
