Abstract
One of today's major challenges in ensuring good care is to put in place treatment pathways tailored to each pathology AND each patient. In the case of breast cancer, this means first and foremost an initial diagnostic pathway that combines rapidity, completeness and adaptation by the surgeon, in particular with the development of neoadjuvant chemotherapy. The diagnostic announcement must be accompanied by a range of players (surgeon, oncologist, psychologist, nurse, patient partner). Surgery in this field is often performed on an outpatient basis, which means that patients need to be able to deal with emergencies and questions. An adapted treatment pathway also requires the integration of oncogenetics, fertility preservation, consideration of other comorbidities, oncogeriatrics and supportive care.
New oral therapies require regular monitoring by advanced practice nurses. Finally, we now have an after-cancer pathway that includes nutrition, physical activity, psychological care, management of after-effects such as chronic pain, the impact on sexual health, the impact on professional activity, etc. Taking all these elements into account is essential if we are to support women in their recovery.
