Abstract

We propose three stages, in the form of a retroplanning, in the optimization of the selection and training processes of future operators.

We suggest to first define the scope of skills required for a safe practice of the discipline. For this, we will distinguish the technical skills (execution of gestures) from the non-technical ones (decision-making, communication, etc.).

Secondly, we suggest developing a training course allowing the development of these skills. Simulation is a useful tool in the optimization of know-how acquisition processes. Who says training says evaluation, to be defined with both safety and performance criteria.

The final step is to set up selection criteria. One approach for this can be an assessment of the candidate's ability to develop the required skills in an appropriate time (reasonable learning curve).
