Abstract

A working group was set up with the main directors of surgical schools from January to June 2025 to examine their situation and make proposals. It appears that the demand is very high, not only for interns but also for surgeons, interventional and medico-technical doctors, nurses, nurses, midwives and biomedical engineers. 27 schools responded to a questionnaire.
Faced with this growing demand, they must be made permanent, organized in the territory, hierarchical, labelled and identifiable by the supervisory authorities and funders. The academy's 3 proposals are: 1- A standardised and permanent status allowing harmonisation between the anatomy laboratory, the simulation centre and the large animal laboratory with pooling of resources, a label, a provisional budget, an educational evaluation; The school of surgery cannot be an adjustment variable. 2- A regional organization with centralized management, particularly at the administrative level To allow a pooling of resources and investments and the possible addition of a GCS or an EIG 3- The creation of a National Council of Schools of Surgery under the authority of the Conference of Deans to receive calls for tenders from schools, receive investments, enact standard contracts with manufacturers, be identifiable vis-à-vis the supervisory authorities and public services, ensure labelling and promote research projects.
