Abstract

After a provincial childhood, nourished by the beautiful ”Ardèche” landscapes, Paul JOUVE suffered the shock of the Great War, from which he returned decorated and holder oh the pilot’s license.
Then, with solid training with the “big bosses “of Lyon, he was able to brilliantly practice surgery at Digne les Bains, where he demonstrated a visionary and innovative personality by creating the Aiglun heliotherapeutic clinic and the surgical mutual insurance company of the”Basses Alpes” and also the first Aéro Club of the department.
When the Second World War broke out, he immediately chose the “Résistance”, while continuing his career as a surgeon.
This earned this deeply human man a halo of glory at the” Libération”: the French Legion of Honor, English decoration MBE, Mayor of DIGNE and Sénator.
He has served his country and humanity well.
