Abstract

C-section is the most performed operation around the world. Technique has been envolving a lot under the double effect of local analgesia and myo-resolution allowed by anaestheliogosists. In the past surgeons were rescuers called by humble obstetricians who were not surgeon : this is no more the truth.
A paradox within the world shares countries in where C-section is widely performed and countries in where it ought to be more performed. Traditionnaly it was for mother’s sake (« the mother or the child ?»). At now welfare of the child is principaly desired. That is perhaps an explanation of the general inflation. Even from that point of vue benefit/risk balance is not so important compared to a vaginal delivery.
Pr Robson (Dublin – Ireland) classified indications of C-sections in ten groups allowing to focus on those who would in priority justify a special effort to decrease C-section rate in selected groups .
Birth managing by both meadwifes and obstetricians have better inprovment in systematizing.
