Abstract
Our healthcare system is on the brink of collapse. Reusing healthcare data of real life, for analysis and research purposes, is a powerful potential lever for efficiency.
We have a flagship, the SNDS, but the surrounding ecosystem still has room for improvement. This ecosystem is a chain that starts from the precise and standardized description of our practices. It requires secure storage of coded informations, easier access to data, linking between databases, and sharing of analysis tools. This ecosystem must cover primary care activity and must integrate the patient's exposome by promoting the crossing of environmental bases with health data.
To change the paradigm, I suggest that a new commitment be added at the end of the Hippocratic Oath: in respect of medical confidentiality, I undertake to describe my practice in such a way that this information can be reused to improve our healthcare system.
