Abstract
The optimal timing for reconstruction after soft tissue sarcoma resection remains debated. While it does not appear to impact postoperative complication rates, oncologic outcomes, or safety, delaying reconstruction allows for margin analysis. This descriptive study aims to compare complications and postoperative outcomes between immediate and delayed reconstruction following sarcoma resection. It includes patients treated at a referral center between December 2019 and December 2024. Local complications (infection, necrosis, wound dehiscence), reoperation rates, and healing time will be analyzed. Additionally, complication and reoperation rates will be compared based on the type of reconstruction used (pedicled flap vs. free flap). The goal is to identify the safest and most effective strategy to improve soft tissue sarcoma management.
