Abstract
• Osteoarthritis is constantly increasing and the main cause of physical disability in the population. It is a major public health problem. There is no solution to push it back at present.
• Taking the example of knee osteoarthritis as a common thread, we see that the choice of treatment decisions, both medical and surgical, is mainly made on static data. The introduction of dynamic data, in patients’ real-life situations and everyday activities, is certainly crucial both to better understand their disease and to choose their treatments.
• The contribution of virtual and/or augmented reality combined with the latest generation of movement analysis technologies, allows us to obtain this data. Generated in very large quantities, they will be able to feed artificial intelligence and guide future therapies, and this in an increasingly personalized way.
