Abstract

It was forgotten or even denied, so as president since 2018, after a long sleep of it, I wanted to find its true origins. The recent archives having partly disappeared, I found in an old book of 1905 only a line mentioning it in 1786, with two references to the municipal archives of Toulouse and the departmental archives of the Haute Garonne.

I had the pleasure, after difficult research because the references were obsolete, to find the certain origins. First in Baour's Almanach du Languedoc in 1788. then with the decree of the Parliament of Toulouse in 1786 and finally in all the registers of the School of Surgery of Toulouse, with the letters patent of the creation of the School in 1760 and the inaugural speech of the Academy in 1787, in homage to the Royal Academy of Surgery of Paris.

But the revolution suppressed it in 1793, however it resumed in 1801 in the Society of Medicine, Surgery and Pharmacy, in association until 1890.It then became independent with its own bulletin until 1945, then was again associated in the medical Toulouse and fell asleep in 1995.

Thus, its age has been proven and since 2018 it has been operating again in association with the medical society. With 10 conferences and awards per year.
