Abstract

The “Haut Conseil des Nomenclatures” is responsible for overseeing the in-depth overhaul of the 13,300 acts currently registered with the CCAM by redescribing their wording and prioritizing the workload of each act in a coherent manner.

To this end, it has set up 42 Clinical Committees working on coherent families of acts.

Since its establishment in 2003, the CCAM has become largely obsolete due to the explosion of new practices and techniques. In order to have a robust, reliable and usable database, it is necessary to review the description and coding in all areas: approaches, guidance, robotic and digital aids, multiple teams.

This redesign work is expected to be completed by the end of 2024. The HCN will then have to establish a methodology for regular maintenance to prevent obsolescence from quickly setting in again.
