Abstract

At Hôpital Foch, we don't just theorize about ethics and scientific integrity in medicine and biology, we also try to put them into practice, through the Department of Ethics and Scientific Integrity.

Our department coordinates two ethics committees dealing with aspects of research and care respectively: the Foch Hospital Research Ethics Committee (CERF) and the Foch Hospital Ethical Reflection Group (GREF). Our department also has its own scientific research activity in bioethics. Based on these three different but complementary and inseparable approaches, our main objective is to support clinicians and researchers at Hôpital Foch in addressing the bioethical and scientific integrity issues arising from their respective practices, including in the field of healthcare. Since the 2022-2023 academic year, the University of Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines (UVSQ), Foch Hospital and the Foch Foundation have jointly set up a lecture series on human, animal and/or environmental health. This cycle follows the creation of the One Health and Global Health academic cluster at UVSQ. Our department is one of the driving forces behind the cluster, coordinating the cycle, which is rich in bio-ethical and scientific integrity issues.
