Abstract

Robotic surgery is a present possibility. The principle is to replace the surgeon in the operating field by a surgical robot. The successive robots: Hazbot (NASA) in 1990, Aesop in 1989, Zeus in 1995, Robot Da Vinci in1995.

The Da Vinci © robot has a tridimentional vision, thanks to two lights and two cameras. The handles of telemanipulation respect the autonomy of the surgeon: increase of the liberty (7 times), delicacy of the operative movement thanks to reducing the movements (six times) and to the filtration of the trembling of the surgeon, optic magnification (twenty times), distant operation (Jacques Marescaux, operation Lindbergh 2001).

All these qualities answer to the needs of microsurgery. In France, exist 280 Da Vinci robots, and 3 millions operations were performed.
