Abstract

In France, we do not dispose of a recognized training pathway in gynecological cancer surgery. The SFOG, CNGOF, SFCO and SCGP supported by the CNU of Obstetrics and Gynecology and UNICANCER have agreed to establish this pathway and to accredit it by a recognition of competence attributed by a national jury.
The work of the committee made up of ten members, representing the six organizations involved, has allowed :
- The elaboration of a charter of adhesion of interested institutions, departments or training programmes to the process.
- Determination of the necessary skills for the recognition of the competencies of a candidate currently in practice
- The proposal of a targeted curriculum for surgical training in gynaecological oncology
To get recognition of skills, a candidate must validate a logbook and fill out a set of specifications including four components: theoretical and practical training; research and publications; teaching and subscription to a continuing education program in cancerology.
