Abstract

Glaucoma, which concerns 2.5% of the French population, is often associated with cataracts with which it often shares the age group. Even if phacoemulsification induces a significant drop in pressure for approximately two years, it may be desirable to perform combined surgery associating cataract surgery with glaucoma surgery, whether filtering or micro-draining. After a presentation of the most recent techniques of the surgeries concerned, the aim of this presentation is, with the support of recent literature, to analyze the effectiveness of surgical combinations, either sequential or simultaneous, for optimal management of the two conditions.
