Abstract
Recurrent requests from experts and medical learned societies wish to integrate re-hospitalisation rates into the VISUCHIR tool http://visuchirspecialites.suadeo.fr for analysing and monitoring surgical practices, as direct indicators of the quality and safety of care.
VISUCHIR is a range of 3 tools built from the PMSI and 36 million CCAM surgical procedures. They enable the creation of panoramas of specialities, the exploration of a speciality, the identification of reference establishments to feed exchanges between peers and the evaluation of practices in relation to recommendations of good practice.
The French National Health Assurance, capitalising on recent reports and studies on the subject by various institutions (HAS, Ministry, ATIH, etc.), has pooled their findings and is proposing an original approach, based on a detailed study of CCAM procedures. Semantic precision, knowledge of the limits of interpretation and the provision of analysis grids and interpretation guidelines by medical learned societies and National Professional Councils appear to be essential conditions for bringing professionals to master the approach.
