Use of custom-made thoracic implants made by computer-aided design to treat thoracic malformations such as pectus excavatum

Abstract
Congenital malformations of the chest wall are 90% dominated by pectus excavatum and then by Poland syndrome. In the absence of cardiac or respiratory repercussions and limitation of physical and sporting activity, the choice of a quality morphological correction seems more and more obvious, but the heavy techniques of invasive remodeling seem to us most often unjustified.
The filling technique using a silicone elastomer implant manufactured by computer-aided design (CAD) using a scanner now seems to us to be the most satisfactory solution.
The design of a personalized implant adapted to the deep plane of the malformation, easy to position thanks to reliable landmarks, guarantees reproducible and impressive aesthetic results. The one-stage surgical protocol allows definitive, lifelong results, and complications are exceptional.
