Abstract

Laryngeal papillomatosis is a rare respiratory disease characterized by the development of exophytic papillomas affecting the mucosa and secondary to infection with papillomaviruses 11 and/or 16. The disease can be responsible for changes in the voice, obstructive dyspnea and extension along the airways.
The diagnosis is endoscopic and resection is indicated because of the risk of degeneration into squamous cell carcinoma. We report our experience of resection with the skimmer blade system (Medtronic), carried out under Optiflow™ ventilation. The technique has the advantage of being conservative with a minimized risk of dissemination compared to other techniques (including laser vaporization). The gesture is associated with a specific vaccination (Gardasil 9, MSD) to limit the risk of recurrence.
