Abstract

The last few years have seen a rise in the debate on the reform of the health system of questions of relevance and quality of care. While physicians were historically regulated by the Bar Council based on their ethical behavior, using a code of ethics, governance based on medical practice is required today. The technological revolution and medical progress in general have made available to physicians a considerable new diagnostic and therapeutic arsenal. Moreover, society has become more demanding about the expected results of medical treatment and has much wider access to information. Finally, big data, if used wisely, provides the means to carry out a policy of evaluation and continuous improvement of this quality of care. The governance of the quality of practices remains to be created. It must be the responsibility of the medical professions if it is to function with the full support of the medical profession, while being credible in the eyes of public opinion and the authorities. With the CNP, we have an institution that has all the virtues and capacities to be at the heart of this new governance.
