The Transmission of Knowledge

The current crisis of the knowledge transmission is, in fact, a crisis of the modern culture. The use of digital technology increases the tension between theoretical knowledge and practical experience. The tendency, greatly influenced by the pragmatism and the behaviorism, is to favor the «hands on» practical experience. However, the formation of concepts is always mandatory to understand the diversity of the reality. Concepts are the expression of a part of the culture which can be considered as a mediation between the human being and the reality. The fascination induced by the technology cancels any mediation whatever. For instance, the recent measures against the Covid pandemic have shown the limits of the e-learning.
Some solutions are proposed in order to retrieve the needs of mediation: importance of the language, promotion of the reading, rehabilitation of the manual writing, introduction of the history of the ideas, restauration of authoritative learnings.
