Abstract

Surgical technique does not summerize the spirit of surgery.
Surgical ethics is preferentially expressed during pre and post operative phases.
Pre operative phase is the moment of surgical indication and patient information. Post operative phase is the moment of surgical follow up.
In case of medical litigation, patients more complain of insufficient information and of lack of follow up, than of surgical technique.
Exponential technical progress of 21st century, for example robotics and augmented virtual techniques, does not wipe off the necessity of an empathetic contact with the patient, in pre and post operative phases.
Keeping in mind this type of relationship beetween the patient and the surgeon is the best way to minimize medical litigation.
