Abstract
Glenoid component aseptic loosening is the main complication after anatomical total shoulder replacement. The mechanisms of the glenoid loosening have been studied through laboratory testing, Finite Element analysis, retrieved component series, and in vivo from the analysis of lucencies on post-operative X-Rays.The present article gives a systematic review of the significance of the lucencies around the glenoid component and of their link with effective loosening in order to provide a thorough understanding of the glenoid loosening mechanisms after Anatomical Total Shoulder Replacement.
