Abstract

The concept of damage control is covering a strategy of management of hemorrhagic shock centered on a salvage minimalist surgery in association with a perioperative reanimation. This strategy is the gold standard in the treatment of polytraumatized patients. Initially, described in visceral surgery it is now used in orthopedics thoracic surgery, urology, ophthalmology and neurosurgery. The serious facial traumatized patient can also be supported according to the concept of damage control.
