The surgeon practioner in the face of implant default

In the 20th century, implants have risen in popularity in all surgical disciplines. The appearance of implant failure has therefore become an inevitable phenomenon. Some failures should and could be foreseen and warned against: it is the manufacturers’ responsibility in terms of the level of conception, fabrication… Others can originate from implants placed incorrectly during surgery.Finally other failures are unpredictable with today’s understanding; they allow for progress. The surgeon is therefore most likely to be involved throughout the steps: conception, utilization, in charge of the patient; his responsibility can be argued.
