Abstract
An upper digestive endoscopy may be very useful, and can be done: as soon as possible, after the procedure of gastric banding and if successfully authorizing a 1 day surgery…; later, if a chronic ulceration is suspected and then seen and treated by an endoscopic extraction. In relation to 722 cases under video procedure of gastric banding a routinely upper endoscopy was performed, in most cases by the surgeon himself.Thereby we have detected: 9 acute ulcerations, with immediate removal of the gastric banding, with a quite very good follow up and 12 chronic ulcerations, treated: in a first time, by surgical video removal, with all very bad follow up and severe digestive an pleural complications; furthermore, by endoscopic removal with a contrariwise very good and rapid evolution (Video).
