Abstract

The management of genital prolapses needs a meticulous clinicalexamination to treat the urinary, gynaecologic and digestive floorsof the perineum. The surgery has to take into consideration the threelevels of the pelvic floor. The superior one and the middle onecould be treated by abdominal way, either by laparotomy or laparoscopy,or by vaginal way. The inferior level should be treated, forthe urinary floor by suburethral tape and for the digestive floor by acolpomyorraphy. The use of synthetic material, unlike for urinaryincontinence, is not established for genital prolapse, according tothe risk of complications. It needs more investigations such as clinicaltrials.
