Abstract
Pluritissular modifications of the lids occur with aging, and are responsibleof several functional and aesthetic disorders. This palpebralinvolution generates dermatochalasis with or without fat protrusions. This palpebral involution can have other functional consequences, involving static and dynamic trouble of the superior eyelidlike ptosis, or of the inferior eyelid like entropion or ectropion.A better knowledge of the pathogeny of those acquired palpebralanomalies is important for a better treatment in conjunction withaesthetic surgery of the eyelids.Involutive ptosis is treated by aponeurotic surgery. Entropion andectropion are treated by shortening of the eyelids. Involutive entropioncan also be treated and only by a myoplasty of the orbicularmuscle.
