Abstract
Since 1978, the Bone Tissue Bank of Marseille has stored 6 762bone pieces, 458 were massive allografts (445 have been used)These grafts, stored in liquid nitrogen with a cryo-preservator arenot secondarily sterilized by irradiation. They were used to rebuildlack of substance after tumoral exeresis, traumatic lack of substance,or iterative reconstructive surgeryBetween 1983 and 1993, 259 patients were operated on. With a 10-year follow-up, good integration was observed in 82% of the cases.Inflammatory problems have been seen in 14% of the cases, theywere often confused with infection without germs, good resultswere obtained after using immunosuppressive treatment.Replacement of the graft was necessary in 4, 2% of the cases, anarticular prosthesis had to be used in 6, 4% of the cases
