Abstract

Living donor liver transplantation is an alternative to compensatethe lack of organs. It was performed 675 times in Europe betweenOctober 1992 and June 2002 (399 times in children and 276 timesin adults). Results are comparable to those of conventional livertransplantation. Its development will hopefully lead to a reductionof mortality for patients awaiting transplantation.
