Abstract
The evolution of the surgical hemostatic agents has continued to develop over the last thirty years. This is to better control of manufacturing procedures, viral safety for blood-derived drugs and innovation in the presentation and application of hemostatic medical devices. The primary clinical evaluations focusing on adjuvant hemostasis continue on other extended indications that respond to real surgical needs, thus protecting patients from complications.
