Abstract

PlamaJet® is a new surgical approach using plasma energy, which is routinely employed to treat endometriosis. Its 3 properties are the lack of lateral thermal spread making the dissection safe, the lack of thermal spread into de depth and kinetic energy enhancing the dissection of deep spaces. Plasma energy is routinely used in the surgery of various localizations of endometriosis: deep endometriosis, ovarian endometriosis, peritoneal superficial endometriosis and diaphragmatic endometriosis. Plasma energy reduce thermal spread into the depth, the loss of ovarian parenchyma, and overall management of endometriosis lesions, allowing for good postoperative pregnancy rate and significant improvement of pelvic pain.
